Production - Feature Article pt. 2

Hey guys and welcome to another two part blog post. In the first part I showed my rough draft of my feature article, but for today's post I'm going to show the layout plan and the final look with all the information placed into there places.

First, here is the layout idea I planned for my feature article:

This is what the magazine looks like now with all the information placed in:

Well, that concludes my feature article posts. I still need to add and edit some details, so I will work on that until the final brief. Please look forward to the final product of this magazine, which will be posted soon.

Production - Cover Design pt.2

Welcome guys to part two of the cover design, today I will show the final look of my cover. In the first part of this post I had placeholders for where the information will be, but this post has the placeholders filled out.

Here's the final look of my cover:

I wanted to stick to a simple look that makes the information stick out instantly and follows the conventions of a magazine cover.

That's all for this post, hope you're excited for the final look of my brief!!

Production - Photography pt. 2

Hey guys, in this post it is a continuation of the last post about the photos I took for the magazine. This post will show the other 3 photos that will be used in the magazine and where in the magazine it will be used.

Photo #4:

This image is another photo of other pastries from the restaurant. This photo will be used near the end of the feature article. In my article, I wanted to talk about how it is also a deli and bakery using a photo showing what they offer. This helps support the content by showing what it looks like in the restaurant so that readers can understand what the article is discussing.

Photo #5:

This image is an overlook of the food ordered by me and my friend. It will be used near the beginning of the feature article to display everything ordered, showing how it looked.

Photo #6

This image is a larger look of the chicken sandwich ordered by my friend. It is in landscape mode, showing the full dish look. This will be used to show the dish that will be talked about in the article.

These photos were more in the moment but I still focused back to some conventions needed for food photography. These photos utilized natural lighting to help in enhancing the food displayed. Other than that, I hope you liked the photos and I'm excited to show the final product soon!

Production - Photography

In this post I will show some of the photos I took for this magazine and where they will be used. In total there are 6 photos used in this magazine but for this post we are going to look at the first 3 photos. These photos were all taken with my digital camera. If you want to know more details about the digital camera, you can look back on my project proposal post. Now let's look at the first 3 photos!

Photo #1:

This image is one of the dishes I ordered at the restaurant. The dish is their chicken sandwich, which is considered one of their popular dishes. This photo will be the cover photo for the magazine.

Photo #2:

This image is a display of pastries served at the restaurant since it is not only a restaurant. This image will be used for my table of contents. Since this restaurant is also a deli and bakery, I wanted to show that somewhere in the magazine; I thought it would look best on the table of contents since it is visually appealing.

Photo #3:

This photo is of the grilled chicken dish that I ordered. This image will be used in the layout of my feature article to work with my review about the restaurant. By taking this image it shows the food that was reviewed and will be talked about in the feature article.

This post today explained my first three photos and how I will be using them in my magazine. This helps in showing progress in my production to help me understand where it’ll go for the final product. Well, that’s all for this post so tune in for part two of my photograph post!
