So, after listing and stating examples of the genres I could choose for my magazine, I decided to do a food magazine. I think it is a good choice, and I already have some ideas on what to do.
For this food magazine I want to search and learn about restaurants around my area that have amazing food but maybe they aren’t noticed enough. I would want to focus my interviews on various restaurants, with one of the interviews being the main story. This helps show restaurants and their amazing food. It also gives a chance to learn about the restaurant and its history such as when it is opened and what cuisines does it serves.
Along with the interviews, I also want to maybe make an article on a food issue today. Issues like using mobile apps to order food instead of going to a restaurant or service at restaurants and how it has changed are some issues that can be discussed in the article.
When it comes to the top 4 important conventions of a general magazine, here’s what they are for this magazine. The concept of the magazine will be focus on restaurants in Florida that are not as noticed or popular. The target audience is people interested in new places to eat or anyone interested in the types of cuisine in the magazine (Ex. Mexican, Japanese, Italian). The content will consist of restaurant reviews, interviews with chefs or owners of the restaurant, recipes, and articles about food issues in restaurants. The visuals for this magazine will be high-quality photos of food being reviewed or dishes popular at the restaurant being reviewed or interviewed.
These are some of the basics conventions needed for my magazine, but in the next post I’ll talk more about more conventions needed for, specifically, a food magazine.
